Rick Hung currently serves as a Partner of the Tax & Investment Department at KPMG in Taiwan. Before joining KPMG, Rick was an Assistant Manager of Audit Department in one of another Big Four accounting firms focusing on financial statement audits, listing advisory, and certification of income tax return. The solid experience makes Rick become a member of KPMG Taiwan IPOs team with his expertise area in advising on tax-efficient structures and tax-saving opportunities for foreign companies planning to undertake IPO in Taiwan. He also involved in various tax advisory projects relating to remittance of funds by Taiwanese investors from overseas back to Taiwan.

Rick is the Head of Family Tax Services of KPMG and a member of Global Taiwan Practice. Furthermore, with his extensive knowledge and experiences, Rick is often invited to give lectures for KPMG Startups & Innovation and KPMG Biotech-Healthcare seminars on tax-related issues. In addition to the Biotech, Healthcare and Long-term care industries that he has been specializing in, Rick also assists individuals and families in implementing a strategic approach for business succession and providing tax planning advice on individual income tax, estate tax and gift tax.

Rick’s area of focus includes tax planning on corporate investment structure, business model and shareholding structure for multinational enterprises, tax evaluation on estate tax and gift tax for individuals, and cross-straits and international tax advisory services. He also assists clients in identifying and seeking tax-saving opportunities through domestic tax concessions, incentives and tax treaties, managing tax audit or tax authority challenge, as well as providing tax administrative remedy services as a professional tax litigation agent.
