John’s former roles include national sector leader for Energy, Natural Resources and Chemicals as well as head of Power and Utilities for the Americas. He has served as lead partner for many of KPMG's clients in the power, midstream and oil & gas segments. He has led numerous business improvement initiatives within the energy industry, including in the following areas: Strategy, Mergers and Acquisitions, Budget Planning and Forecasting, Finance Department Organizational Design, Business Process Improvement, Management Reporting, Risk Management & Compliance.
John is a frequent speaker on energy industry trends. Speaking engagements include Edison Electric Institute and American Gas Association Events, United States Energy Association’s Energy Supply Forum, KPMG’s Power and Utilities Audit Committee Member Peer Forum and KPMG’s Global Energy Conference.
John has also contributed to several KPMG Global Energy Institute thought leadership publications including, The Agile Utility, U.S. Power and Utilities Outlook, U.S. Oil and Gas Outlook, the annual KPMG Energy Survey, and After the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill: Recent Developments in the Oil and Gas industry.
John holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting, with honors from Illinois State University and is a licensed certified public accountant in Texas and New York. John is also a board member of the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center, whose mission is to improve the lives of abused children in Dallas County. He is also a Tocqueville member of the United Way, an elite group of United Way investors who have demonstrated the highest level of commitment to improving their community.
